Healthy Halloween Tips & Tricks
If you are trying really hard to live a healthier lifestyle, replacing poor habits with healthier ones or struggle when it comes to sugar Halloween can be one of the most dreaded holidays, because the temptation is typically at an all time high in our home and at our workplace for weeks!
Let's chat about what we can do to NOT self sabotage ourselves and how that will help our kids. Lord knows it is not fun dealing with a sugar high straight into to a sugar withdrawal meltdown. So as we make these healthier choices for ourselves we are actually influencing those around us to do the same!
If you are not strong enough to resist the sugar you have some choices. You can choose not to buy it, choose to buy one you know you will not be tempted by or pick it up the day of Halloween.
Whether you're heading out the door trick-or-treating orstaying at home for a fun family movie night... make sure to enjoy a healthy, balanced meals all day and have a dinner loaded with proteins + veggies along with a lot of water. When we are hungry or thirsty we tend not to make the best choices if they are in our face.
HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE! Mentioning it again because it is that important. Every day, your goal should be to drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water. So, make sure you've got your water bottle
with you + stay hydrated!
BALANCE IS KEY! Halloween is just 1 day out of 365. You should be able to celebrate it without guilt, but another way to look at this is why choose to put things in your body that only taste good and provide no benefits to you at all other than that? You can always finding healthier options that will satisfy you verses derail you from feeling your best. And my hope is by sharing this Healthier Halloween PDF with you it will help you do just that!
