Let's Learn How To Make Meal Planning Easier For You For Next Week
You know the saying "Fail to plan, plan to fail". When it come to your wellness journey having a plan in place especially when it comes to nutrition is so important. Not everyone's plan is going to look the same because all of our schedules look different, we have different goals and different bodies but it is important to learn what is going to help you.
So how exactly do we know what will help us? Well it's been trial and error for myself over the years and as our life has changed between work schedules and our kids schedules what once worked for us five years ago looks a bit differently today.
I want to share some things to think about as we think about next week to help you get a plan in place that will work for you. So lets think about when it comes to your nutrition what are your biggest struggles? Is it having enough time to make a healthy dinner? If that is the issue what can you do differently so that is not a struggle any longer? Could you prep things the night before? Could you use the crockpot to slowly cook your protein during the day? What do you think would help you?
When it comes to lunch do you feel like you are always ordering out? Could you make a extra serving of dinner each night so that way you have a healthy lunch for yourself the next day? Could prep lunches for the week so they are grab and go ready in your fridge?
When it comes to breakfast do you need something easy and quick? Could you make a smoothie that has protein, greens, healthy fats and drink that on the way to work or as you are getting your kids ready? Could you create grab and go recipes that you store in your fridge for your breakfast as well that would provide a good amount of protein, healthy carbs and veggies, maybe even some healthy fats?
If you can take a little time over the weekend to think about where you struggle the most and start to get a plan in place that will help you no longer struggle you won't feel so stressed during the week and you will feel more in control. The more food planning you do the less take out and eating out happens which means more money in your pocket, another added bonus for planning ahead for sure.
You also don't have to prep everything. If that works for you that's great but it doesn't work for everyone so think about what things could you prep that would help you? For me its washing fruits and vegetables , cutting some up so there are grab and go healthy options. Baking sweet potatoes so I have a healthy carb I can add to any meal during the week. Preparing some healthier treats so when I want to indulge a little bit, I have a healthy option to snag like these 5 ingredient chocolate chip peanut butter squares. I store them in my freezer. Savoring one of these satisfy my sweet tooth craving in a healthier way: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cu7gHtoJqh9/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
